About Tom Villacres:

Tom and Brenda Villacres have lived in Stafford since 1990 and are the proud parents of four children. Jennifer and Heather are graduates of North Stafford High School and currently attend Ohio State University.  Nicholas and Andrew attend Hampton Oaks Elementary School.  Brenda recently “retired” from the NSHS PTSA and is looking forward to volunteering more at Hampton Oaks. 

Tom has been representing the Garrisonville District on the Stafford County School Board since 1998 and is currently serving as Chairman.  Tom has also served for the past three years as the School Board member of the Stafford Parks and Recreation Commission.  Tom has been a regional officer in the Virginia State School Boards Association Northeastern Region for the past four years and last year was elected Regional Chairman for Northern Virginia.

Prior to serving on the School Board, Tom served as the first President of the Courts at Stafford Homeowners Association and President and Vice-president of the Hampton Oaks Elementary School PTO. Tom has also been a Religious Education teacher at St. William of York Catholic Church for many years and currently volunteers as a substitute teacher.

Tom is employed as a government civilian in the Department of Defense in Arlington, Virginia.  He has worked in the Counterdrug Office for the past ten years and is currently the Division Senior Analyst overseeing strategic studies and applications.

From 1994 to 1995, Tom taught Spanish at North Stafford High School. He also served as the Junior Civitan Advisor and supervised after school detention and Saturday school.

From 1983 to 1994, Tom served as a Military Police officer in the United States Army.  He was stationed in the Republic of Korea and at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he commanded an Airborne Military Police Company.  Tom was selected as a Foreign Area Officer and earned his Masters Degree in Latin American Studies at Georgetown University. He was on the promotion list for Major when he was medically retired.

Tom graduated in 1983 from The Ohio State University with a B.A. degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice. From 1982-83, Tom served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Military Police Platoon Leader. Tom was born and raised in Newark, Ohio, where he graduated from Newark High School in 1979.
