Villacres Stays Engaged with the Community - an Active Participant In February of 2001, Tom Villacres became the first School Board member to hold a town hall meeting. Since then, Tom has hosted over half a dozen community meetings - many with Supervisor Gary Pash and other County officials - so that the people of the Garrisonville district can be heard. Tom has hosted a personal web page - at his own expense - for the last four years to keep constituents informed and to be accessible to everyone in the district. Tom has also written a quarterly column in the Homeowner’s Newsletter to keep his neighbors informed about what is happening in the School System. Tom stays in contact with PTO Presidents and Homeowner’s Associations so that he can be involved in their concerns. Because he volunteers with his two young sons, he is available at Church, Scout meetings and Soccer or Football practice. Tom has never turned down a request to attend a community meeting, except when School Board or business commitments were unavoidable.
